VAC Volunteer Manager Network - Next meeting will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. at Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre, 44 Francis Street, Kitchener (near Victoria and Charles on the back side of The Tannery). A local panel of education representatives will discuss Student Placements. 8th Annual Volunteer Impact Awards - Thursday, April 3, 2014 - Nominations are now open for the 2014 Volunteer Impact Awards. Think about volunteers from boards, programs and businesses who have made an impact on your organization this past year. Click here for details about categories and the on-line nomination form. Deadline for nominations: Friday, January 31, 2014.

The Newcomer Partnership Grant is a partnership between the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation and the United Way of Kitchener Waterloo and Area designed to facilitate access to community resources, develop and strengthen the relationships between ethnically diverse communities, and build partnerships between culturally diverse groups in the community. The Partnership Project is an initiative to strengthen the relationship between the Ontario Government and the province's 45 000 not-for-profits. Started in 2010 and with the major report published in 2011, the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration has recently released the 2013 Partnership Project Progress Report. Leading Women/Leading Girls Building Communities Awards nominations open! You can help MPPs recognize women and girls in their riding who are taking on community leadership roles by awarding them with a certificate of recognition. If you know of women and girls in Kitchener Centre who have shown leadership in their community, whom you would like to see nominated please contact my office at 519-579-5460 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The nomination period is now open and will be closing on January 24, 2014.
