Impact Statement: KYAC (Kitchener Youth Action Council) are volunteers aged 14 and 24 who are tired of the norm and want to do something about it. We work together with adults who believe in what we have to say and help by supporting our ideas and work. We decide what we want to work on and how we get it done. Some ways we make a difference are planning and running events; that deal with issues we care about; sharing our opinions with City of Kitchener staff and other organizations to help them make decisions with young people in mind; speaking at City Council meetings, community events, etc. to make sure youth voices and ideas are heard; supporting other youth groups and organizations that are doing good work for youth
Description: KYAC is a voluntary group of youth between the ages of 14 and 24 who are concerned about issues facing youth across the community. KYAC members meet at least weekly to discuss current and upcoming issues and also to discuss opportunities to take Action.
