Position: Program Assistant - Go Girls!
Location: 30 Duke Street West, Kitchener, ON, Canada

Description: Go Girls! is a program that has been developed for girls in Grade 7 and 8 to provide them with the information and support they need to make informed choices about healthy, active living during a particularly challenging stage of development. Maintaining sensitivity towards emotional, social and cultural issues, Go Girls! addresses topics such as physical activity participation, healthy eating choices, self-image and relationships. All program content and resources are provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Volunteers are partnered with another volunteer (consider recruiting a friend to facilitate with you!) to lead the group of up to 8 girls. The Go Girls! program runs for 1.5 hours, once a week, for seven weeks. The program occurs in local elementary schools (specific location determined by volunteer preference and school availability), during school hours. Go Girls! Sessions run in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Now accepting volunteers for the Winter 2018 Season!
Requirements: Confidentiality
Training Details: Our volunteers receive orientation, training and ongoing support. A detailed Go Girls! program manual is also provided to all volunteers along with all activity resources and necessary materials.
Working Conditions: You will be working in an elementary school within Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the surrounding Townships. Specific location determined by volunteer preference and school availability.
Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
