About the Position

Position: Transportation Volunteer
Location: Various locations throughout K-W; volunteer office shown (298 Lawrence Avenue, Kitchener)
Description: Volunteers are vital to successfully transporting clients to and from medical appointments. Transportation volunteers also help client to attend our day program on Tuesdays in Kitchener and Thursdays in Cambridge. These volunteers can choose to either drop off or pick up our clients. Volunteers will improve their communication skills and offer a valued service to clients who can no longer drive but wish to have a day out of their home.
Requirements: English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Specialized Training, Work Without Supervision
Training Details: Volunteers are required to complete a 33hour training course.
Working Conditions: Volunteers would drive their own car and take clients to and from medical appointments or hospice services.
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: Hours of driving can vary week to week. No more than 2-4hours/week.
Age: 20+
