About the Position

OrganizationHabitat for Humanity Waterloo Region
Position: Salvage/Deconstruction Volunteers - ReStore
Location: 120 Northfield Drive East, Waterloo, ON
Impact Statement: Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region envisions a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our Mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means of breaking the cycle of poverty. Everything that we do is accomplished through the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers.

Our Salvage program is key to the success of our ReStores. When individuals donate a kitchen through our Salvage program, it's win/win/win. The donor saves on removal costs in their renovation project. The kitchen is sold to a customer at a discounted rate to update their own home or cottage. Then the donor receives a tax receipt for the sold item.
Description: As part of the team, volunteers will assist in the safe and gentle removal of products and materials from renovators and individuals who are undertaking renovation. They will assist in the delivery of these products to the ReStore(s). In addition, they may assist in the repair of salvaged materials, as directed.
