Position: In-home Gentle Exercise Instructor
Location: Clients are located across Waterloo Region
Impact Statement: Regular exercise provides a myriad of benefits including, enhances and maintain functional ability and mobility, while decreasing the risk of falls and other preventable injuries. Just 15 minute of exercise a day helps seniors and adults with Disabilities, protect against declines in cognitive functions, memory loss, and dementia. By sharing your time, you will be helping seniors and adults stay active, while alleviating feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Description: Volunteers visit housebound clients for approximately one hr. per week over a 12 week period. Volunteers receive 6 hour of training prior to being matched with one or two clients. If you are passionate about health and fitness and are looking to gain hands-on experience in working with older adults, this is the ideal volunteer opportunity for you!

Flexible time commitment. Visits are scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both volunteer and client. A six month commitment is required for this position.
Requirements: English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Specialized Training, Work Without Supervision
Training Details: Volunteers must complete training before being matched with 1 or 2 clients. First Aid & CPR training required. CSC will provide training, if needed.

CSC offers regular volunteer educational workshops on various topics. All volunteers are notified of upcoming sessions.
