Impact Statement: The City of Waterloo has a rich history of volunteerism that continues to today. There are many opportunities within each neighbourhood to get involved and give back to your own community. The University Downs Neighbourhood Association has worked with community members to bring various opportunities to the neighbourhood such as annual Party in the Park, neighbourhood clean-ups, and park beautification.
Description: Responsibilities:
Presides and attends the monthly Executive Board meetings
Regular communication with the vice-president, secretary and City of Waterloo representative
Receives and distributes all UDNA correspondence
Manages debates at meetings
Attends City of Waterloo public engagement opportunities or makes alternate arrangements
Acts as a liaison with community initiatives
Ensures subcommittees are on track, keeping timelines and deadlines (both during meetings and for committee business)
Training Details: Required Criminal Background Check and volunteer form submitted.
Working Conditions: The geographical boundaries of the UDNA are defined as all the lands bounded by Bridle Trail, Bridge Street West, University Avenue East and Melitzer Woodlot. The board chair will run and organize monthly meetings, interact with the community, and encourage neighbourhood members to be involved.
Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Weekday - Evening, Anytime

2 year commitment to the Executive Team
2 hours for monthly meetings
1-5 hours monthly for chair responsibilities
