Position: Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator - Royal Medieval Faire

Impact Statement: Now in its 20th season, the Royal Medieval Faire is a magical day where the medieval period comes alive in the 21st century. The day is full of games, medieval vendors and performers, including dramatic productions, musicians and swordplay. Every year, the Faire relies on dedicated volunteers to bring the festival alive and attract thousands of patrons for the annual event.

We currently have a volunteer opportunity to join the Faire team as a Fundraising/Sponsorship Coordinator. The Fundraising/Sponsorship Coordinator will support the Board of Director’s efforts to reach specific fundraising and sponsorship goals.

Description: Responsibilities
• Act as the primary contact for fundraising/sponsorship opportunities and work with the Board of Directors to research, identify and qualify new prospects
• Establish, cultivate and maintain relationships with sponsors
• Properly document and maintain contact database
• Write, assemble and submit corporate funding requests, including letters of intent, solicitation letters, proposals, budgets, acknowledgements and presentations
• Ensure prompt acknowledgement of gifts and sponsorships
• Maintain calendar to ensure timely submissions of proposals, grants and reports
• Develop growth strategy for new and potential donors

Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently
• Outstanding organizational skills with superior attention to detail
• Knowledge and experience in non-profit fundraising/development

• Orientation session and support from Royal Medieval Faire Board
• Suitability of this placement is subject to review by the Board, any time within the first year
Working Conditions: Time, Place and Commitment
• Hours will vary throughout the year. The time commitment is roughly 1 – 5 hours per week. Hours will increase as the day of the Faire approaches. Post Faire (October – March) will have minimal hours.
• Incumbent is able to work during hours that best suit their schedule.
• Attend monthly board meetings as required.
• One-year commitment: option to renew with Royal Medieval Faire Board approval
Duration: 7 - 12 months
