Position: Performers Coordinator - Royal Medieval Faire

Impact Statement: Now in its 20th season, the Royal Medieval Faire is a magical day where the medieval period comes alive in the 21st century. The day is full of games, medieval vendors and performers, including dramatic productions, musicians and swordplay. Every year, the Faire relies on dedicated volunteers to bring the festival alive and attract thousands of patrons for the annual event.

We currently have a volunteer opportunity to join the Faire team as the Performers Coordinator. The Performers Coordinator will support the Board of Directors with the development and coordination of entertainment efforts for the Royal Medieval Faire (RMF).

Description: Responsibilities
• Work with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors to determine the Faire’s entertainment line-up
• Finalize performer contracts and confirm bookings
• Collect biographies from performers and submit to the Graphic Designer for the Faire’s programme
• Arrange for suitable sound equipment rental and set-up, as required by the performers
• Greet and assist performers during the Faire
• Coordinate performer honoraria with the Artistic Director and Finance Administrator
• Solicit feedback from performers and provide performance analysis reports post Faire

Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently
• Outstanding organizational skills with superior attention to detail
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities with limited supervision
• Prior experience with organizing entertainment for large public events would be an asset

• Suitability of this placement is subject to review by the Board, any time within the first year
Working Conditions: Time, Place and Commitment
• Hours will vary throughout the year. The time commitment is roughly 1 – 5 hours per week. Hours will increase as the day of the Faire approaches. Post Faire (October – March) will have minimal hours. Incumbent is able to work during hours that best suit their schedule.
• Hours on Faire day, Saturday, September 16th will be 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Attend monthly board meetings as required.
• One-year commitment: option to renew with Royal Medieval Faire Board approval
