Position: Company Program Facilitator - JA Company Program 2017/18
Location: Various schools throughout Waterloo Region
Impact Statement: Students involved in this program learn all the ins and outs of building their own corporation, including selling shares to gain capital, production and promotion of their chosen product, electing a management team, conducting board-meetings, keeping up to date financial records, producing share-holder reports, and more. At the end of the year, students and volunteers will attend an awards banquet to celebrate their success.
Description: The after-school Company Program runs on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 and is a once-a-week commitment for about 20 weeks. The program runs from October until April.

Facilitator Responsibilities:

Responsible for week-to-week operations ensuring student companies meet the weekly deadlines and timelines. Ensures the safety of all participants in the Company Program. Makes sure products produced do not present a safety hazard. Approves all products. Ensures the system tracks products/lost products, keeps inventory.Creates weekly checklists for Mentors and Achievers to ensure tasks are completed on time. Each week, completes all company deposits by 8:00 p.m. Maintains separate banking records for all student companies.

Requirements: English Proficiency, Specialized Training, Work Without Supervision
Training Details: A comprehensive training session is mandatory for all Company Program volunteers. The session ranges approx. 4 hours in duration.

Time Detail: Varies, depending upon volunteer's program choice and schedule.
