Position: Christmas Driver - Christmas Hamper Program

Impact Statement: Volunteers are vital to House of Friendship’s mission of service to those in need. In fact, over 1,000 volunteers contribute almost 50,000 hours of volunteer time annually.

Approximately 400 volunteers contribute their time and talents throughout the year to assist with the delivery of programs and daily services and the running of special events. During the Holidays in December, another 600+ people volunteer at Christmas Hampers and the Turkey Trucks to share the gift of food.

At other times, volunteers support special projects, ranging from painting fences to leading special fundraising campaigns. A volunteer Board of Directors and group of Board Members govern House of Friendship.

Volunteers join program participants, staff and community members sit at House of Friendship’s table to build a healthy community where all can belong and thrive.
Description: We are looking for drivers to deliver Christmas food hampers. Last year our drivers helped deliver over 4000 hampers throughout our local community. This is a key role in our Christmas Hamper program
Training Details: A driving appointment time will be arranged and instructions provided prior to and on-site.
Working Conditions: Must have valid license and insurance. Will need to be able to lift 10-20 or so pound hamper using safe lifting techniques. Names and addresses of recipients are kept confidential.
Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: Hamper pick up appointment times are normally 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and slightly before 5 p.m.
