Position: Driver - Children/Youth Transportation
Location: 200 Ardelt Avenue Kitchener
Impact Statement: Transportation for children/youth needing to attend school, programs, day care, access with family members, etc. is crucial in service delivery.
Description: Volunteer drivers provide a safe, reliable service. They also provide mentorship, a listening ear, and someone to count on. If you enjoy interacting with children and youth and love to drive, this is your volunteer assignment.
Requirements: English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Physical Demand, Specialized Training, Work Without Supervision
Training Details: Volunteer pre-service training sessions, driver orientation, and child car seat training is mandatory and provided. The next pre-service training sessions are at The Family Centre, 65 Hanson, Kitchener. Contact us for dates and times.
Working Conditions: You must have a G license with three years of driving experience, a good driving record, a vehicle in safe working condition, and 1 million dollars in liability insurance on your vehicle. Your assignments can be as varied as you wish. Mileage is reimbursed. Child car seat training and car seats are provided.
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: 6 months to an one-year commitment is requested. Volunteers help out once a week or more depending on availability. Assignments may be during the day, evening, weekday or weekend.
