Description: Participate in weekly relationship building activities with the residents of Ray of Hope's Secured facility located in Petersburg and Lutherwood's Open facility in Waterloo. Sample activities include board games,cards, basketball, volleyball and football. Developed relationships can transition into Circles of Support, which aid youth reintegrating back into the community.
Requirements: Confidentiality, Physical Demand
Training Details: An agency orientation (2hrs.) followed by 2 nights (6:00-9:30) of training plus a tour of the facility is provided. Training cost is $50.00.
Working Conditions: Volunteers must be willing and physically able to engage in high-paced physical activities with male youth approx. 12-19 yrs old.
Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Weekday - Evening
Time Detail: Choice of one evening a week - Mondays: 6:30-8:00pm; Wednesdays:
7:00-8:30pm; Fridays: 6:30-8:00pm
