Position: Woodworking Assistant - Community Alzheimer Program
Location: 247 Franklin Street North, Kitchener, ON, Canada
Impact Statement: Help a small group of participants in our Community Alzheimer Program enjoy a familiar activity of small woodworking projects. Encouraging reminiscing and social interaction while helping participants to complete simple projects.
Description: Responsibilities include:
- Setting up room and projects
- Assigning tasks to participants based on abilities and interests, assist staff in gathering participants to program area
- Clean up of room and supplies under the supervision and direction of the Recreation Therapist
Requirements: Confidentiality, Physical Demand, Specialized Training
Training Details: Orientation to Sunnyside Seniors' Services will be provided along with specialized training relevant to role description and program area.
Working Conditions: Indoor work, some preparatory work may be required in getting simple woodworking projects ready.
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: Tuesday afternoons each week from 2:45 - 4:00 p.m.
