Position: Hospital Peer Visitor - Linking Survivors with Survivors
Location: 1b - 236 Victoria Street North, Kitchener, ON, Canada

Description: Are you a stroke survivor or caregiver? Our hospital peer visitors visit new stroke survivors and caregivers within the hospital environment providing help with recovery by providing hands-on-tangible knowledge to manage the emotional and physical stages of stroke using hope, optimism and encouragement.
Requirements: Confidentiality, Work Without Supervision
Training Details: Participate in 8 (2 hour) training sessions a variety of topics that will help prepare the Peer visitor for visits within the hospital.
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: Hospital visitations occur on a weekly basis. Expected time commitment is up to 8 hours per month.
