Position: Gentle Exercise Group Instructor (WALC)
Location: Classes are delivered throughout Waterloo Region
Impact Statement: Regular exercise provides a myriad of benefits including, enhances and maintain functional ability and mobility, while decreasing the risk of falls and other preventable injuries. Group exercise also alleviates feeling of loneliness and isolation.

By sharing your time, you will be helping keep seniors and adults with disabilities active and engaged in their community, improving their quality of life.
Description: Group instructors deliver a predetermined routine of exercises based on the SMART program structure learned in training. Weekly one classes are delivered at various community sites, Mon - Fri, during the daytime. Instructors choose appropriate music, set up room and exercise equipment, and clean and tide room at the end of each class, as required. Instructors also complete intake process with all volunteers, including health screening and waiver forms.
Training Details: All instructors are required to successfully complete 14 hours of in-class training and 10 hours of mentorship.

First and CPR certification required. CSC will provide training, if needed.
Working Conditions: * Wear non-restrictive clothing and footwear that is comfortable and appropriate for exercise.

(Sleeveless shirts i.e. tank tops and short shorts are not permitted).
Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: Weekly one hour classes. Most classes are delivered during morning time.
