Position: Sports Facilitator - Waterloo Chapter
Location: First United Church, 16 William Street West, Waterloo, ON N2L 1J3, Canada
Impact Statement: We work together as a community of peers that acts to improve the individual and community quality of life of people who are blind, deaf-blind or living with low vision.
Description: We are presently involved in bowling, curling and golf which are coached by various individuals and adapted for blind, deaf-blind and low vision members. We need someone to oversee the facilitation of these sports as well as motivate our members to get involved. Other sports such as lawn bowling could be added in time. A volunteer would need to be a sports enthusiast as well as a motivator.
Training Details: Organizational orientation will be provided. Monthly meetings will also help you to get to know the members and the importance of the group.
Working Conditions: You would be invited to attend a monthly dinner meeting to learn more about our chapter. Separate meetings around specific tasks can be arranged in person or by phone. Work can be done from home.
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Time Detail: Can work on your own time, with attendance at monthly meetings held at 5:30 PM on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
