Position: Child and Youth Worker
Location: 10 Acorn Way, Cambridge, ON, Canada

Description: Do you share an understanding of the duty of care provided by the Family and Children’s Services? We are looking for someone with a willingness and ability to help us with our children and youth! In this role your key responsibiities are: To positively engage children in the playroom and at times lead activities such as games, crafts, free play time, and homework; assist the C&Y worker and children during Support Group; actively listen and engage in positive conversations with children in an effort to gain their trust, build self-esteem and self-awareness; role model kindness, respect and responsibility; lead children in their efforts to clean up the playroom: assist in maintaining a safe environment for children.


Knowledge in the area of child development and demonstrated previous experience with children.
Training Details: On the Job Training with skilled staff.
Working Conditions: A genuine interest and caring for children; An ability to effectively engage and support children during various activities.
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: Weekly at Haven House for our TLC Program - Wednesdays commencing as follows: 10:00 am to 11:30 am for the first 6 weeks; 10:00 am to 12:30 pm for the remaining 4 weeks.
