Impact Statement: Celebrating and inspiring community through the shared experience of film, the Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) is an annual week-long festival dedicated to bringing bold, reflective and inspiring films to Waterloo Region (Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo).
Description: As Publicity Coordinator, you will assist in creating and distributing intriguing press releases that promote the festival and upcoming events, establish a rapport with local media outlets, respond to media inquiries, coordinate interview inquiries, research media contacts and maintain an up to date media database.
Training Details: Orientation to position and festival provided.
Working Conditions: Roles & Responsibilities:

- Work in collaboration with Marketing Chair, Festival Program Committee, and Sales Committee to market the film and events program to targeted audiences
- Work in collaboration with Marketing Chair, prepare strategic timeline for all available avenues of media coverage, convey that to our media partners, and ensure schedule is met
- Oversee the creation and distribution of press materials including PSA's, press releases. Prepare the copy and timeline
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within entertainment, film and the tech industry
- Develop relationships with media both within and beyond Waterloo Region
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Assist the social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
- Promote the festival at every possible opportunity


Either studying Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related discipline, or proven working experience in any of these fields.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
