Position: Female Mentor - Youth Program
Location: Various locations throughout Waterloo Region (volunteer office shown: 65 Hanson Avenue, Kitchener)
Impact Statement: To positively role model and impact a young person's life through developing a positive, supportive relationship.
Description: Self-esteem building, teaching/coaching social skills, and introducing a child to new opportunities in the community are all a part of mentoring. Volunteer mentors might also work with the child/youth on specific issues that have been identified by the caseworker.
Requirements: English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Physical Demand
Training Details: Our next volunteer pre-service training will be at The Family Centre, 65 Hanson, Kitchener.
Working Conditions: While use of a vehicle is not mandatory, our clients live throughout the region and use of a vehicle makes assignment matching more likely.
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening
Time Detail: 2 to 4 hours per week depending upon the needs of the client. Flexible hours during the evenings or weekends.
Age: 18+
